WARTS

Warts are non-cancerous skin growths caused by a type of virus. Warts are usually skin colored with a rough texture, but can also be long, dark, or smooth.

Warts are not serious and are most common in children. Georgia Dermatology offers several, in office treatments including Cryotherapy or freezing, chemical treatments, and surgical removal.

Patients should stay consistent with treatment for warts. Avoid scratching, as warts contain viral particles that can be spread to other areas of the body. It can take up to 12 months for new warts to appear.
