Georgia Dermatology Skin Care Formula Transformation

As your skin ages, turnover of skin cells slows down significantly, throwing off the balance between the growth of healthy new skin cells and the sloughing off of old damaged cells. Collagen and Elastin begin to slowly break down, causing the skin to lose its resilience, resulting in fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging. Daily exposure to UV light accelerates this aging process and causes uneven pigmentation.

The six pharmecuetical-grade products of the physician-prescribed Skin Care Formula Transformation at Georgia Dermatology Center actually transform skin at the cellular level. When used together on a regular basis, these products essentially "wake up" the skin by stimulating collagen and elastin production, balancing melanin production, and initiating increased nutrient and blood flow. Moisturizers become unnecessary as the skin relearns how to hydrate itself naturally. The skin is restored to a more youthful state, one where it works with you, not against you. The transformation system includes three important categories: Cleanse, Correct, and Protect.

Cleanse:

Any effective program begins with the proper cleansing of the skin by removing all impurities to allow for full penetration of other products. The Cleanser removes impurities, makeup, excess oil, and dead skin cells without irritating or altering the normal skin function. This product is available in Cream for dry to normal skin, and Gel for normal to oily skin.

The Toner enhances the action of the cleanser, removes any remaining bacteria in the pores and balances the skin to a normal pH level. This greatly enhances the overall efficacy of other products in the transformation system.

Correct:

Fortified with 4% Hydroquinone, the Skin Lightener suppresses pigmented melanocytes by reducing melanin production, resulting in even skin tone.

Containing Alpha-hydroxyl acids, the Exfoliator promotes cellular exfoliation of the top layers of the skin, increasing overall smoothness and reducing pore size. For a stronger solution, try the Exfoliator Forte.

Balancer Rx is made of a special formulation of hydroquinone, alpha hydroxyl acids, and saponins. When used in conjunction with prescription strength Tretinoin, these ingredients work to restore keratinocytes, the cells responsible protecting skin from UV damage, heat, and water loss, to a normal skin cycle. The resulting effects are improved skin function, diminished fine lines and wrinkles, improved elasticity, and restoration of natural hydration.

Protect:

SunBlock SPF 55, the final product of the skin care formula transformation, is meant to protect the skin from additional damage by limiting the harmful effects of the sun. Multiple sunscreen products are available, all offering UVA and UVB protection. A special formulation containing 4% hydroquinone for severe hyperpigmentation is also available.

Other available products:

Tretinoin firms the skin by plumping and building collagen. Tretinoin is a medication used to treat a wide variety of skin conditions, and works especially well in treating chronic acne. Tretinoin is sold separately and is available in multiple strengths of .025%, .05%, and 0.1%.

Dryness and peeling are typical indicators that the treatment protocol is working, and are most likely in the beginning stages of transformation. The Moisturizer product is available to assist the skin during these beginning stages. If used as directed, the Skin Care Formula Transformation will restore the skin's natural hydration process, at which point the Moisturizer should no longer be necessary.

1. Gel Cleanser: This Cleanser is gentle on the skin yet effective in removing oil, makeup, and other impurities. Enhanced with Aloe Vera and botanical extracts this cleanser leaves the skin feeling clean, clear, and refreshed. Its natural pH balance makes it suitable for all skin types. (AM/PM)




2. Gentle Cleanser: This has the same benefits as our Gel Cleanser but is best for use on sensitive skin. It is also recommended to use after having a facial procedure or chemical peel. (AM/PM)





3. Toner: An essential lotion to be used after cleansing. This alcohol-free toner soothes skin with Aloe Vera and botanical extracts. Formulated to restore the skin's normal pH balance, this toner prepares the skin leaving a smoother and more refreshed feeling. (AM/PM)




4. Skin Lightener: With 4% Hydroquinone, Georgia Dermatology's Skin Lightener is used for the depigmentation of dark areas of the skin such as age spots, liver spots, freckles, and other unwanted areas of melanin hyper pigmentation. (AM/PM)




5. Exfoliator Forte: Specially formulated with a more active concentration of AHA (alpha-hydroxy acids), this exfoliator aids in the removal of unwanted impurities, including dead skin cells, helping to provide the skin with a soft feeling and smooth texture. (AM)




6. Exfoliator: This has the same benefits as the Exfoliator Forte but is recommended for use on sensitive skin. (AM)






7. Blend (must mix with Tretinoin): This product promotes peeling and stimulates new cellular turnover by carrying products deep into the dermis. Blend builds collagen, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, and improves rosacea, acne, large pores, and skin texture. Clinically, this translates into firm, well hydrated skin that does not need moisturizers. (PM)



8. Tretinoin (Retin-a) (must mix with Blend): This firms the skin by plumping and building collagen. Tretinoin is a medication used to treat a wide variety of skin conditions, and works especially well in treating chronic acne. Tretinoin is sold separately and is available in multiple strengths of .025%, .05%, and 0.1%. (PM)



9. Moisturizer: This should be used sparingly for peeling and dry skin. Use of another moisturizer should be avoided as it could cause a chemical reaction. As the skin begins to regulate cell growth and natural hydration, this product will no longer be necessary.
